Quarry Questions to ask Yourself as you Head into the New Year

Back to blog

Head into the new year planning and prepared for success. As a quarry owner, it’s important to take some time to reflect on your production over the last year and determine what’s needed for a successful 2022.

Some questions to ask yourself as you head into the new year:

What worked in 2021?

List the things that worked for you and your facility in 2021. Think all the way back to January of 2021. We often get so bogged down in the current state of production that it becomes difficult to think back on early successes. Big or small, reflect on everything good that happened this year.

What did not work in 2021?

Similarly, take note of the things that did not work in 2021. What production struggles did you face, and how did you overcome them?

What would you do differently in 2022?

Taking a look back at what worked and what did not, decide if there are any things you would have done differently.

Where do you want your production facility to be at the end of 2022?

Think ahead to this time next year. What production and financial goals do you want to achieve? What achievements are you hoping for? List out your goals now and check in with them regularly.

What are your personal goals as a quarry owner and leader?

While it’s important to take inventory of your quarry as a whole, you won’t get very far if you don’t also focus on your own personal goals and development. What steps can you take to become a better owner and leader for your crew?

As you make plans for 2022, remember that we’re here to partner with you and help you see success. If you’re in need of new equipment or production analysis, we’d be honored to help you determine what’s right for you. Let’s get started.
